Four's long-term work with The Box, Plymouth has helped the museum secure the world's largest museum prize, recognising its role in transforming civic cultural life.
Four has supported The Box, Plymouth in being named Art Fund Museum of the Year 2026, the largest museum prize in the world, worth £120,000.
Since 2022, Four has worked with The Box to grow its profile and deepen its public reach, helping to drive record-breaking visibility, critical acclaim and footfall. The work has positioned the museum as a leading civic and cultural destination in the South West, and a national example of how regional institutions can connect with new audiences.
Its recent exhibition Beryl Cook: Pride and Joy welcomed more than 100,000 visitors, making it The Box's most attended exhibition since opening in 2020 and a defining moment in the museum's public engagement strategy.
The Art Fund Museum of the Year award recognises museums that are pushing the boundaries of what a museum is or can achieve. As Art Fund Director Jenny Waldman put it, The Box is "a leading example of what a civic museum can achieve".
CEO Victoria Pomery and her team were presented with the prize at the award ceremony aboard the Cutty Sark.
